CN-5050-1

Canfield Solder 50/50 or 60/40 are the leading solders used in stained glass and other solder based artwork. Both 50/50 and 60/40 are general purpose solders used in the soldering of copper and copper alloys and/or ferrous based alloys. This alloy offers satisfactory corrosion resistance properties and is generally used where temperature requirements are critical.

The 60/40 blend is the most popular of the tin/lead alloys for stained glass. 50/50 Solder has a higher melting point than 60/40 solder and is often utilized to create a base bead for copper foil seams as it prevents "bleed through" to the back side of your project. Note: 60/40 is then used to create the final bead.

Use with adequate ventilation and proper personal protective equipment. See SDS for any specific emergency information. Do not dispose of any hazardous materials in non-approved containers.
